The owners of a property in Wainscott, NY wanted to relandscape their front and back yards to maximize their property's sustainability and create a refuge for pollinators and wildlife.  For the backyard, the goal was to remove the existing lawn and create a stroll garden in a native plant pollinator meadow with multiple colorful wandering paths connecting the house, pool,  a glass conservatory and the extensive woods to the rear.    In the front yard,  the lawn was replaced with drought-tolerant clover that eliminates the need for mowing and watering while also sequestering nitrogen into the ground, attracting pollinators, and enhancing soil health without chemical fertilizers.  Large curving blocks of intensely-hued sustainable creeping thyme around the entry walkway activates the front entry experience and adds a touch of whimsy.
